I'm not trying to discredit Villar and his group. Honestly, I admire the guy. In fact, if Noynoy didn't enter the fray, he'd probably get my support.

It's very clear now that this election will be a contest between LP and NP/C. When one group wins, the other group will lead the opposition, right?

So if Noynoy wins, Villar will be the main opposition figure. And he'd be "forced" to form a coalition with Gloria's PaLaKa to control Congress. It's LP+PMP admin vs. NP+NPC+PaLaKa opposition. In that scenario, Noynoy would have to "go easy" on Gloria or she'd give him hell!

In the event that Villar wins, LP will be the main opposition. Since LP (and Erap's PMP) is running on, broadly, an anti-Gloria platform, they obviously can't join forces with her. So it's Villar again who will form a coalition with PaLaKa to control Congress.

So who wins in both cases?

As donhern commented, it would be the monster moms Senate President Santiago and Speaker of the House Gloria Macapagal Arroyo!

What we need for president of the republic of the philippines, is the man who has the true will to reform the bureacracy and clean the government. Eversince, our beloved country, were ran by elite class of people who has vested interest only to protect their businesses. If we dont help each other, to look forward, for tomorrow, for the redemption of our country in poverty and corruption, then we will never see a better philippines. We need a true leader who has only vested interest for God and for our country. To rule justice with equality among poor and rich. A true heart to redeem the philippines around the world from the shame of being weak. We have been praying for your release as your incarceration is totally unjust. You are a legend among the Marines because of your bravery and you have been honored even by GMA. But when you spoke up against corruption in her government, she put you behind bars.

jim paredes is a nice person but i won't recommend that he run. there are a lot of other ways he can help. fact is we all can help withouth even getting into politics. may i suggest the following:

1. start a group that would help improve the mindset of the poor; by ridding them of the "mahirap ako dahil sa gubyerno, dahil sa kapalaran, dahil sa kagustuhan ng diyos" syndrome

2. start a group that would help provide small easy-to-pay business loans to poor filipinos (look up Grameen Bank)

3. start a group that would educate the younger generations about proper voters education. let's teach em young to understand that beyond "showbizy gimmicks" it's clear cut plans and competence that will improve governance

there's so much that can be done without going into politics. with his influence, mr. paredes can help start these initiatives.
