Gloria Arroyo's plan in 2010

Monday, November 30, 2009

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has confirmed that she will run for a congressional seat in the second district of her home province in Pampanga. A lot of people are wondering why would a sitting President want to slide down from the highest elective post in the land to be a Congressperson. It’s a shame!

Well, she’ll do it for her political survival. She knows that the main opposition candidate, Liberal Party’s presidential bet Noynoy Aquino, will almost certainly win in next year’s election. She knows that her supposedly anointed candidate, Gibo Teodoro, would have NO chance of winning. That’s why she allowed the disintegration of her PaLaKa party and even turned over party leadership to Gibo in a guise of reforming the party.

The truth is she’s allowing the dismantling of PaLaKa to strengthen the other political party she is secretly supporting—the NP/C (Villar’s NP and Legarda’s NPC). She’s just hoping that those who’d bolt out of PaLaKa will go to NP/C and not Noynoy’s LP.

She knows that the political battle in the national level is between the LP and NP/C, with Erap’s PMP eventually aligning with the LP after the elections and whatever left of PaLaKa forming a coalition with NP/C.

She’s now seeing the most likely scenario as:

Noynoy wins the Presidential election next year but he’ll have an unfriendly Congress. Both Senate and House of Representatives will have more NP, NPC, and PaLaKa members than LP and PMP combined. Manny Villar, who’d end up the runner-up in the presidential elections, will form a coalition with PaLaKa (and even some members of PMP) to create a formidable opposition to the LP administration.

So the Senate will be headed by opposition senator (maybe Santiago or Cayetano?) while the House of Representatives will be headed by Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo!

Nice move huh!

Very clever, indeed!

What a nightmare scenario for Noynoy to have Miriam as Senate Prez and Gloria as Speaker! He would't be able to do good even if he tried as these two monster moms will sure obstruct his every move. It's important therefore that the LP gets a good representation in Congress or we'll have government gridlock despite a well-meaning President.

lets vote for noynoy, obviously we can see how HIS heart is noble to help our country and di tulad ni arroyo na PERA KAPANGYARIHAN lang ang habol. wake up FILIPINOS!!!

I'm not trying to discredit Villar and his group. Honestly, I admire the guy. In fact, if Noynoy didn't enter the fray, he'd probably get my support.

It's very clear now that this election will be a contest between LP and NP/C. When one group wins, the other group will lead the opposition, right?

So if Noynoy wins, Villar will be the main opposition figure. And he'd be "forced" to form a coalition with Gloria's PaLaKa to control Congress. It's LP+PMP admin vs. NP+NPC+PaLaKa opposition. In that scenario, Noynoy would have to "go easy" on Gloria or she'd give him hell!

In the event that Villar wins, LP will be the main opposition. Since LP (and Erap's PMP) is running on, broadly, an anti-Gloria platform, they obviously can't join forces with her. So it's Villar again who will form a coalition with PaLaKa to control Congress.

So who wins in both cases?

As donhern commented, it would be the monster moms Senate President Santiago and Speaker of the House Gloria Macapagal Arroyo!

Hooray!

Again, GMA lied. She said that she will surely step down by 2010 and might be teaching..or was it her son who said it. And now, she's running again! Hindi na ba naaawa ang mga Arroyo sa Pilipinas? Tingnan mo, pati si Satanas, ayaw tanggapin si FG, binuhay pa! takot lang ni Satanas na pati siya, matanggal sa puesto! Haay...GMA is bad for the health...bad for the heart...nakakahigh blood!

Enough is enough for Miss Gloria "Greedy" Arroyo. Running for congress is yet another scene for another greedy act and that is to be the greedy Prime Minister if ever.
